Based on 35 years+ as an avid (fanatical) bass lure angler, in addition to being a Professional Guide (South Devon Bass Guide Ltd) about to enter my 10th full-time season, these are the 10 LURES I would recommend the beginner/novice purchases in the first instance.
This video is based around a template that I will apply to future productions in this ‘THE 10 BASS LURES TO BUY FIRST’ series, which is describing, with the aid of underwater camera and drone footage, the following:
- WHAT THE LURE REPRESENTS (bass prey items)
- WHERE I WOULD USE IT (the type of ground and terrain)
- WHEN I WOULD USE IT (under which conditions)
- HOW I WOULD USE IT (tips on retrieve rates and styles)
- COLOUR CONFIGURATIONS (what I have personally purchased and why)
These aren’t necessarily ‘the best’ bass lures – as that is clearly very subjective. However, the objective of this series is to assist the angler new to bass lure fishing to attain a collection that doesn’t cost the earth, and that is suitable for use within a myriad of conditions and environments, and to coach you through WHEN best to attach them, and HOW to utilise them.
