2025 ‘Account Opened’ in quite a remarkable fashion…

Welcome to my second blog post of the 2025, and indeed the second that features an ‘Audio Clip’ that describes and depicts the background, tactics, methods, and techniques that I utilised that morning to land the fantastic 60cm, winter bass in the featured image.

You may have already seen the Facebook post relating to the extremely fortuitous nature to this capture. But to those of who haven’t, as you can see, I was using the lure of the moment (a Megabass Sleeper Craw) in what was some very shallow, and very muddy water – the rest I’ll leave for you to have a listen via the Audio Clip below:

As mentioned in the recording above, below is a photograph of the water clarity this splendid bass was caught and released back into – if anything, I think that these ‘creatures’ are even more effective in more turbid water, or water that at least has a decent ‘tinge’ to it.

As you can see, there was perhaps 6-7cm clarity to the water due to the pace of tide receding out of this secondary channel, in addition to the remnants of the previous night’s rain.

Thanks for reading and listening. Again, I welcome any feedback, especially in relation to this new ‘blog format’ I am trialling.
